{"id":363,"date":"2021-06-26T13:04:51","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T13:04:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/palomatherapy.com\/?p=363"},"modified":"2021-07-25T23:57:32","modified_gmt":"2021-07-25T23:57:32","slug":"we-all-have-mental-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/palomatherapy.com\/es\/we-all-have-mental-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Todas tenemos salud mental"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Colectivamente, como sociedad, debemos priorizar la normalizaci\u00c3\u00b3n de la salud mental y las enfermedades mentales de una manera que sea tan importante como nuestra salud f\u00c3\u00adsica o una enfermedad f\u00c3\u00adsica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En otras palabras, si comenzamos a tratar nuestra salud mental como si contraj\u00c3\u00a1ramos el resfriado com\u00c3\u00ban, m\u00c3\u00a1s personas buscar\u00c3\u00adan tratamiento para deshacerse de esos s\u00c3\u00adntomas repugnantes. Aunque tratar las enfermedades mentales no es como obtener medicamentos de venta libre, siempre podemos ser proactivos sobre c\u00c3\u00b3mo afrontamos y manejamos nuestros s\u00c3\u00adntomas diarios de depresi\u00c3\u00b3n o ansiedad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La Alianza Nacional de Enfermedades Mentales (NAMI) informa que al menos 1 de cada 5 adultos de EE. UU. Experimentan una enfermedad mental en un a\u00c3\u00b1o determinado, 1 de cada 6 ni\u00c3\u00b1os de EE. UU. Entre 6 y 17 a\u00c3\u00b1os experimentan una enfermedad mental cada a\u00c3\u00b1o y el 75% de todos los la enfermedad comienza a la edad de 24 a\u00c3\u00b1os. Esto significa que por cada 5 personas que vea o 5 personas que pueda nombrar, 1 de esas 5 personas habr\u00c3\u00a1 tenido un episodio de depresi\u00c3\u00b3n o ansiedad que puede ser causado f\u00c3\u00a1cilmente por un evento estresante. Sorprendentemente, la Organizaci\u00c3\u00b3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS) tambi\u00c3\u00a9n ha encontrado en estudios que entre el 30 y el 80% de las personas con s\u00c3\u00adntomas de enfermedad mental evitan buscar tratamiento y, gradualmente, los s\u00c3\u00adntomas se vuelven m\u00c3\u00a1s dif\u00c3\u00adciles de tratar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pero, \u00c2\u00bfpor qu\u00c3\u00a9 no es tan simple? Creo que el estigma tiene mucho que ver con la forma en que abordamos la salud mental y las enfermedades mentales en primer lugar. El estigma p\u00c3\u00bablico rodea el tema de la salud mental con actitudes y creencias negativas que crean estereotipos que conducen a conductas discriminatorias contra las personas vulnerables. Por ejemplo, se debe evitar pensar que las personas con enfermedades mentales son violentas y peligrosas. Este es un ejemplo de un proceso cognitivo-afectivo asociado a un estereotipo sobreexagerado que tambi\u00c3\u00a9n resulta falso. Es m\u00c3\u00a1s probable que alguien con una enfermedad mental sea v\u00c3\u00adctima de violencia. Otros factores que influyen en el estigma incluyen la orientaci\u00c3\u00b3n de g\u00c3\u00a9nero, la orientaci\u00c3\u00b3n sexual, la cultura, la religi\u00c3\u00b3n e incluso la situaci\u00c3\u00b3n econ\u00c3\u00b3mica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuando el estigma se internaliza, puede conducir a resultados da\u00c3\u00b1inos como sentimientos de verg\u00c3\u00bcenza y aislamiento, baja autoestima, desesperanza y baja autoestima. El estigma internalizado tambi\u00c3\u00a9n se conoce como autoestigma y cuando el autoestigma se experimenta junto con la enfermedad mental, puede aumentar y exacerbar los s\u00c3\u00adntomas de la enfermedad mental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las formas en que cualquier persona puede ser proactiva para reducir el estigma de la salud mental es siendo m\u00c3\u00a1s consciente de nuestro lenguaje y comportamientos. Por ejemplo, usar la palabra \u00e2\u20ac\u0153loco\u00e2\u20ac\u009d de manera vaga en las conversaciones o evitar a nuestros amigos o familiares que quieran compartir sus desaf\u00c3\u00ados con la salud mental. Usar la auto-revelaci\u00c3\u00b3n con vigilancia es importante ya que tambi\u00c3\u00a9n queremos ser conscientes de con qui\u00c3\u00a9n estamos compartiendo experiencias. Un buen lugar para comenzar es encontrar un profesional de salud mental, terapeuta, consejero o pastor calificado que pueda procesar c\u00c3\u00b3mo el estigma los afecta individualmente. Otro enfoque para reducir el estigma de la salud mental es encontrar una comunidad o un grupo de personas que compartan las mismas experiencias de sentirse incomprendidos o juzgados. Con este tipo de estad\u00c3\u00adsticas sobre la relevancia de las enfermedades mentales en nuestra sociedad, est\u00c3\u00a1 muy desactualizado seguir estigmatizando y discriminando a las personas que luchan con los factores estresantes cotidianos y tienen que aislarse por temor a ser juzgadas por una preocupaci\u00c3\u00b3n que es tan com\u00c3\u00ban como la resfriado com\u00c3\u00ban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La Alianza Nacional de Enfermedades Mentales es una organizaci\u00c3\u00b3n que tiene como objetivo reducir el estigma proporcionando grupos de apoyo gratuitos para familias e individuos que buscan apoyo adicional en torno a las enfermedades mentales.
