As a bilingual Associate Marriage Family Therapist under supervision, my commitment is to my client’s well-being and to help people reach their potential. Growing-up in South-Central Los Angeles, my passion for helping others intensified as mental health resources were limited. Experiencing first-hand the lack of therapeutic resources and stigma about mental health in the Latinx community made me committed in broadening understanding through therapy. My approach to therapy is person-centered and collaborative, understanding that each client has a story and voice. As a therapist, I take pride in offering evidence-based therapy while maintaining a supportive, compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental environment for every one of my clients.
I am a trained EMDR therapist and work with individuals that have experienced trauma in their life, through EMDR I am able to help individuals process trauma and feel relieved of symptoms. I incorporate elements of Cognitive-Behavioral, Person-Centered, Solution Focused and Family System therapy into sessions, while also focusing on establishing trust through the therapeutic relationship. As an Associate Marriage Family Therapist, I have experience working with individuals with Depression, Anxiety, Childhood or Adult Trauma, and with veterans with Substance Use Disorder. I also enjoy implementing play and art therapy with kids and adolescents who are dealing with traumatic experiences, depression, and anxiety.
As a therapist I meet each client where they are at and explore their needs and goals through establishing understanding and trust. I take pride in creating an environment where each client feels understood and validated. I find it important in allowing each client to unveil their potential through acknowledging their thoughts, behaviors and perception of self that limit them. I am committed in providing my clients support and encouragement through each step of their mental health journey.
