Hello, my name is Jennefer Cerna, and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Golden Gate University. Being fluent in both English and Spanish, I am passionate about making therapy accessible and culturally inclusive for diverse communities.

During my graduate training, I completed my practicum at a nonprofit mental health organization where I had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults from various backgrounds. Through this experience, I supported clients facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, life transitions, communication difficulties, and identity exploration. These experiences deepened my understanding of how mental health is impacted by both personal and environmental factors and reinforced my commitment to providing compassionate, client-centered care.

My therapeutic style is grounded in a client-centered approach, which means I tailor my interventions to meet your unique needs, strengths, and goals. I draw from evidence-based modalities while allowing space for authenticity and human connection. I aim to build a strong therapeutic alliance, where you can feel safe, supported, and truly seen. I believe that healing begins through meaningful connection, and my work is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and respect for your individual story.

I understand that beginning therapy can feel unfamiliar, emotional, and even overwhelming. You don’t have to take that first step alone. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, feeling stuck in a life transition, struggling with low self-worth, or simply in need of someone to listen without judgment, I’m here to walk alongside you. My goal is to help you explore what’s going on beneath the surface, uncover new insights, and take empowering steps toward positive change and personal growth.

Therapy is not about having all the answers—it’s about creating space to ask the right questions, challenge old patterns, and embrace healing. If you’re ready—or even just curious—to begin that process, I welcome the opportunity to support you on your path.
