Frequently Asked Questions

Can I read your relationship advice or “Dear Paloma” content online?

Yes! Our “Dear Paloma” series explores real-life relationship experiences, boundaries, and healing. Please note this content is for educational and entertainment purposes only and does not replace therapy.

What makes Paloma Therapy different from other therapy practices in Los Angeles and Pasadena?

Paloma Therapy is rooted in community, culture, and real connection. We specialize in trauma and relationship healing while creating a space that feels empowering—not clinical or judgmental. This is a place where your story matters.

How do I know if Paloma Therapy is right for me?

If you’re looking for a space where you don’t have to explain your culture, your trauma, or your experiences—we may be a good fit. Our therapists are trained to support you with compassion, understanding, and real tools for healing.

Do you offer virtual therapy in California?

Yes, we offer virtual therapy throughout California, making it easier to access care from wherever you are.

Is private pay therapy worth it?

Many of our clients say that investing in their mental health through private pay allows them to fully focus on their healing without limitations. It creates space for deeper, more personalized work especially when addressing trauma, relationships, and long-term patterns.
Therapy is not just about symptom relief it’s about transformation. For many, that level of care is worth the investment.

Do you accept insurance, including LA Care?

We accept a variety of insurance plans and Yes! We do take LA Care. Please contact us to verify your coverage and get matched with a therapist.

Why do some clients choose private pay instead of using insurance?

This is something many of our clients consider, and there’s no right or wrong choice—only what feels best for you.
Some clients choose private pay because it offers more privacy, flexibility, and control over their care. Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis and may limit the number or type of sessions covered. With private pay, your therapy is centered around your needs—not restrictions.
Clients who choose private pay also have more freedom in how they approach their healing, whether that includes trauma-focused work, relationship therapy, or deeper personal growth.
At Paloma Therapy, we support both options and are happy to help you explore what feels like the best fit for you.
